“The Chief Minster was kind enough to allot me Rs 15 crore for plan work and another Rs 5 crore for non-plan work. I was able to get government sanction for more than Rs 32 crore developmental works so far. I will focus of all nine panchayats from my constituency,” Sopte told The Goan.

The Mandrem MLA also got a sanction to the tune of Rs 20 crore from the Water Resources Department (WRD), out of which Rs 16 crore will be spent on different works from Morjim panchayat.

“I plan to lay a new pipeline for Parsem and Yuyem villages which will cost approximately Rs 70 lakhs. Additional work of Rs 3 crore will also be taken up in the near future,” Sopte informed.

For road maintenance, the government sanctioned more than Rs 22 crore.

In order to solve the electricity supply problem of Mandrem constituency, a special sub zonal electricity office will be established by spending Rs 32 crore.

“Although Tiracol is a part of Goa, it is being supplied electricity from Maharashtra state. Now, I have decided to construct towers on both sides of the Tiracol river and an electric cable line will be taken to Tiracol village by spending Rs 3 crore. Once this work is completed, people from that area will get electricity from Goa,” said Sopte.
